Swiss Luxury Apartments in Geneva

When I imagine my dream apartment, it is all white, minimalist with high ceilings and lots of natural light. I found my dream apartment in Geneva, although I only stayed there for a short time on a brief trip to Geneva to celebrate New Year’s Eve in style.
Swiss Luxury Apartments are situated in one of the oldest buildings in Geneva, dating from the 19th century, in a key central location on Rue Philippe-Plantamour. The apartments are only one block away from the lake and have a perfect view of the Jet d’Eau fountain and the main road, where all the other luxurious hotels in Geneva are located. The 24 suites are designed for people who like to stay somewhere which feels like a home from home, and which has second-to-none service, yet the right amount of privacy and comfort.
It is perfect for single business travellers, but it’s also great for couples or girlfriends on holiday. Bigger families and groups will appreciate the fact that you really get so much more space and comfort than in an average hotel room.
The grand red carpet entrance leading up to the reception made us feel like VIPs already. At reception, an extremely friendly concierge, Mathieu, and his team greeted us and took our bags. There is a quiet lounge area, which breaks up into two calm, cream rooms near the reception, with all the amenities a guest could need, such as a Nespresso machine, Evian water, a selection of teas, as well as coke and juices. It is the perfect place to go and read a book, or catch up on some work.
We checked into our gorgeous Superior 1 bedroom suite on the third floor. Everything we could possibly want was contained in the spacious 50 square metres. I am impressed by unconventional things, so I loved that they provided bath salts to soak in, as well as a quality hair drier with a defuser, hair straighteners and bottles of Evian, Coke, apple juice as well as complimentary sparkling water, too! #LIVING
This is not to take away from the three-metre-high ceilings, the sparkling cleanliness of the apartment, the yumminess of the silk-blend sheets and the rain shower. We also enjoyed the speedy wifi, Nespresso machine, a desk with USB plugs, 2 flatscreen TV’s (which actually we never watched) and a wine cooler (which I wouldn’t use either!). But as you can tell, they cater to every need. I would describe these suites as comfortable, luxurious and elegant.
In the mornings, the lovely Eva brought us breakfast in bed. As they were still working on the facilities to accommodate more diverse breakfast choices, we opted for some freshly-squeezed orange juice, pastries, jams, fruits and my partner in crime, Joana, also had some cheese, as she is a vegetarian. What is it about breakfast in bed that is so appealing, despite all the crumbs in the bed? Maybe because it is so lazy?! Luckily our sheets were changed every day, these are the luxuries which I really love – although that is not very eco-friendly, is it, Marsha?

The apartment made us want to sleep in late, and spend as much time in it as was courteous when visiting a new country. Geneva is not very vegan-friendly, although most places have some vegan options. I always crave my own cooking when I travel. As we had a fully-equipped kitchenette, it was the perfect opportunity for me to prepare a healthy dinner; something simple, yet extremely nutritious and delicious, and similar to something I would make at home; quinoa with veggies and salad it was!
I believe location and comfort are the key when travelling, especially for a short time, and Swiss Luxury Apartments couldn’t be a more perfect place to stay. Everything is within walking distance including a 10-minute walk to the train station, a two-minute walk to the boat bus, which takes visitors over to the other side of the lake and the Old Town, as well as all the classy restaurants, such as Qibi & Patara.
If you are ever in Geneva, take my recommendation and check yourself into Swiss Luxury Apartments, you won’t regret it.
Thank you to Mathieu, Dina and the team for hosting us and for offering us such outstanding customer service, which was both friendly and exceptional.
Stay here:

A Superior room starts from 500CHF low season.

Geneva has the sleepy tidiness of a man who combs his hair while yet in his pijamas.
